Winter break

We are in the annual winter break, during which we comprehensively maintain and overhaul our historic steam locomotives. This meticulous maintenance work is essential to ensure that the locomotives are in perfect condition for the coming 2025 season.

We look forward to welcoming you again from May 2025.

Season up to Planalp middle station: May 10 to June 6, 2025
Season up to Rothorn Kulm: June 7 to October 26, 2025

Vacancies

For guests, the BRB is the ultimate experience: they get away from it all on Switzerland's only steam cogwheel railroad and can dream about it for a long time to come. Our railroad slows you down and frees your heart for the wonderful mountains of the Bernese Oberland - every summer since 1892. Would you like to help us pamper our guests? Join us and convince us with your application!

Charging station for electric vehicles

Our parking deck is equipped with several charging stations for electric vehicles so that you can charge your vehicle conveniently during your visit to Brienz Rothorn Railway . Our modern charging stations are available around the clock and are located at Trachtlistrasse 2 in Brienz (5 minutes' walk from the valley station).

Steinli's Discovery

Accompany the young ibex "Steinli" on an exciting journey to the Brienzer Rothorn. In this enchanting book, children experience exciting adventures with "Steinli" and learn interesting facts about the impressive flora and fauna of our region in a playful way. The book is designed with children in mind, with loving illustrations by Brienz sculptor Markus Flück and written in easy-to-understand language by author Corinne Schmidhauser. The book is available in German.
