Arrival

The Brienz Rothorn Railway is located in the heart of Switzerland, nestled in the breathtaking landscape of the Bernese Oberland. Thanks to its central location right next to the railroad station, the historic steam cogwheel railway is easily accessible from many places. You can be in Brienz in an hour by train or car from Lucerne and in just 20 minutes from Interlaken.

By train

You can reach us by train via Interlaken or from Lucerne via the Brünig.
The train station is opposite our valley station.

By car

You can reach Brienz from Interlaken via the A8 highway in 25 minutes. The access roads are well developed and there are rarely traffic jams. Parking spaces are available in the immediate vicinity of the Brienz valley station and are signposted. There is a charge for parking - a whole day costs CHF 8.00.

By ship

The ship takes you from Interlaken to the quay in Brienz. You can already see our valley station from the ship and as soon as the ship has docked, you can reach us on foot in three minutes.

By coach

Long-term parking spaces for coaches can be found at the ship station in Brienz - directly opposite the Brienz valley station. These parking spaces are free of charge.
